New Musical Theatre Group - Newcastle looking for members. 16.07.2010.
NorthernAllStars have received this request from Dennis Westgate, a theatre producer, looking to start a new Musical Theatre Group in Newcastle to perform his work in the North East area:
I am at present running an ad on Gumtree, asking for anyone with stage experience to help me set up a new musical theatre group in the Newcastle/Gateshead area.
So far I have written 10 new musicals, (3 of which have already been performed) and all have been well received. Only one drawback, the company performing them are ‘The York Stars’. As my work is well established there and they could not afford the costs involved in playing outside the area, I am very keen to form a new society to present my work here in the North East.
It would be ideal if I could afford to set this up professionally, but in this economic climate I’m afraid that kind of money is impossible to raise. However there may be some you out of work artistes who feel it would advantageous to be occupied in theatre work and be ‘seen and heard’, rather than sitting at home doing nothing.
